I just came back from the sydney convention. at times I had my lapel card and at times I didn't..no big deal. I took some pictures, I may post them when I print them. I posted a question regarding the GB.

the attendents and staff were checking for identification (lapel cards) big time on sunday.
they told a couple of young bro's that they would not be allowed readmittance if they left the stadium and did not return with a lapel.

Who are the members of the GB now?

we had 2 speakers who were from the gb, so they told us.but i've never heard of their names before now.
it seems the gb have changed greatly since the picture taken of them in the "proclaimers" book.

It seems the GB have changed greatly since the picture taken of them in the "Proclaimers" book. Does anyone now the names of the GB members these days? One of them was called "Steve .... " I didn't like this guy, he smiled too much, he gave the talk "Voice of strangers" it sickened me since I knew the truth behind what he was saying. Also. we only got 2 new release's, a Book for Children and a book about Maps of the promised land. Is this all that was released in the USA as well? I thought there was a book regarding "How to Donate"

Buy the "crisis of conscience " book, it will open your eyes much more then a copy of the elders book. It will be the best $40 you have ever spent. I have a copy, but I'm in australia. Buy it.

And just in case you do did have a True Freind, suddenly after an announcement from the platform that this True Freind has being DFed for something, you can't talk to him no more, and your not allowed to ask WHY either.

i assume that the offer is the same in other countries.. i think it really shows how the wts doesn't have respect even for its own version of truth.
the "live forever" supports the old theology of the "generations", which has being removed since 1995. they should at least destroy these books which teach what they don't even believe, but they seem to be interested in getting same money for them.

I am still an "active" JW, but my field service is zero, so the elders have in the pass asked me that they want to have a "sheperding call" on me. All I have said was"thanks, but no thanks", they ask "why"? and I just tell them "I don't wanna talk about it" and I just go on with my life.
I hate the way they do sheperding calls, its only to make the C/O happy and in turn give themselves a few extrsa points. They don't really give a dame about you.
In your case, I'm sure there only doing it because of the C/O and there probably putting a bit of pressure on your family too. But just them tell "NO Thank you."

Its a BIG BIG Scam ! Don't answer it. Don't beleive it. These kind of scams have been on the news here in Australia. Some people who follow the directions loose there money. throw the letter out. I've had some myself. Emails also are being sent with the same kind of offer.Its all a big Con.

But thats assuming that the WTS is the true religion, as we all know the WTS is no better then any other religion, in fact, in many ways they are worst. So there is no real reason why a EX-JW can't go where he likes. It surprises me to read that many who have left the WT still have guilt feelings and are frightened to go to other church's.
